Rural Health Upgrade Project (RHU)
Health they say is wealth. Nonetheless, this may be quite expensive to own. Particularly in Nigeria where policies and frameworks that address the needs for all-round wellbeing for the populace are in short fall. Health institutions in most rural communities lack basic health facilities (Hospitals, Emergency services, health equipments ) to attend to the health needs of communities, particularly marginalized local communities. Albeit, certain rural communities have these facilities available. Nonetheless, available facilities are sub-standard, and as a result unable to contain the spread of epidemics when they occur in these rural communities. This project therefore is aimed at ensuring that health institutions in rural communities are enhanced to provide adequate care to community members through the provision of health facilities , training and workshops for health staff and also members of these rural communities.
